In 2001, a group of amateur fossil hunters began excavating a skeleton of a theropod dinosaur, nicknamed “Jane”. This is the story of how, sixty-six million years after its life and death, Jane became the focal point of one of the most heated debates in dinosaur paleontology. Is it Tyrannosaurus rex, Nanotyrannus lancensis, or something altogether unique?
